I’m Sophie, owner & baker of Butter & Crumble. My business began as a passion project during culinary school to afford continuing to baking copious amounts of treats for my friends and family from my tiny apartment kitchen in San Francisco. We’ve grown a lot since then but even as my business expands I am determined to keep baking treats for each of my customers with as much care as I do for loved ones and create new flavors that even I can’t stop snacking on.

Most cakes are buttercream based and are best served at room temperature. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days and brought out to temper for 30 min – 1 hour before serving. For extended storage keep in freezer and transfer to refrigerator night before. The standard 6 inch size feeds around 8 people – contact me for larger sizes!
Unfortunately if you’re looking for a custom design cake (aside from wedding cakes!), I’m not your gal. I put tons of thought into every single flavor I release and believe the beauty of the cakes is all about being able to see the delicious gorgeous layers! I don’t use any fondant because I think it tastes GROSS and the cakes are designed to be all about TASTE. I hope you like them!!
